We’ve been lucky to take a bit of a pause over the past month—spending time with our families, resting, and recharging as we look ahead to the next year. As we thought about returning here, it felt hard to jump back in with our usual colorful, happy posts with so much unfolding in the world around us.
What did feel right was putting our heads down and making something by hand—something small, rooted in care—that could make a difference with your help.
At Apiary Market, we believe in leading with compassion and care for our neighbors. We wanted to offer support to families in Minneapolis during a difficult moment.
We created these paper heart garlands as a handmade way to help. All donations will support the Immigrant Interfaith Network Basic Needs Fund, which provides temporary emergency financial assistance to individuals and families facing unexpected challenges that threaten housing or employment stability.
We’re offering these garlands in exchange for a suggested donation of $18–$25. Each garland is made from a vintage Shakespeare anthology, sewn together, and measures approximately 9 feet in length. Each garland includes 44 hearts, each measuring about 2.5 inches.
If you’d prefer to donate directly, you’re welcome to do so and send us a screenshot of your receipt—we’ll happily send you a garland in return.
We currently have 10 garlands available and would love to make more if donations continue. Please private message us if you’d like to participate.
