Many of you who’ve met me over the years have heard countless stories about Salty Dog and Pepper Pup (AKA Sweet P, Peps etc). Depending on the event you may have even met Peps. You may have heard me share stories about how PWD’s were breed to be working dogs. While their original role was to work alongside fisherman, their intelligence and work ethic make them well suited for other roles.
On this day we honor all the working dogs of 9/11 who were originally deployed to find survivors but instead worked tirelessly to find remains in the hopes of providing closure to their families and friends. Sharing a link to my personal page about one of those dogs in particular. This is from Connie Millard a well known breeder in the PWD world who was also a FEMA certified SAR dog handler.
