Lol rewatching this it was not as good of a bang day as I thought but Tarot doesn’t care what you like when you pull a card :)

7 of Pentacles - keep your eyes on the goal and doing all the things you have been doing, your super close just not quite there yet. Chin up, one foot in front of the other and you’re doing great!

Had a good walk this week — a mother and baby deer crossed my path, and a little further along, a whole group of wild turkeys.

In my own practice, deer have become my personal symbol for ancestors; seeing one always feels like a small visit. Turkeys, for me, are tied to gratitude — I can't spot one without running through everything I'm thankful for.

This is personal symbolism I've built over time, not a universal tradition, but I'd love to hear: does anyone else have an animal that's become their own personal shorthand like this?

"Fire doesn't wait around." That line's been living in my head since I wrote it for the blog — fire's not just about endings, it's ignition too, the spark that gets something moving again.

I make candles so fire is my go-to, ride or die for spell work - but I recognize I need a little more balance so I am exploring the other elements.

Do you use candles or fire in your magical practice? Tell me what lights your fire! (pun intended)

Confession: I've basically switched to iced Daybreak for the rest of summer. It's my caffeinated breakfast blend built around Earl Grey, lavendar, and Tulsi. That lavendar note is somehow even better cold. (Yes, it is ant season and no, no ants were harmed in the filming of this video.)

Small-batch, hand-blended, right here in Salisbury.

Anyone else already made the iced switch?

Real talk: self-care gets sold to us as a candle and a bubble bath, and sometimes that's just not it.

Reclaim the Season spends two hours on what self-tending actually requires — the real version, not the trending one.

September 5th at 9 AM, virtual via Zoom, $30. RSVP link's in the comments.

Let's get real for a second — how often do you actually remember to refresh your wards? Recharge a charm, walk your protections, check that the little practices are still doing their job underneath everything else? If you're anything like me, the honest answer is "less often than I'd like to admit."

That's the whole premise behind the new blog post, Working the Wheel: A Rhythm for the Disorganized Witch. It takes the Wheel of the Year — the solstices, equinoxes, cross-quarter days, full and new moons — and turns it into an actual maintenance rhythm, covering your magical upkeep AND your household upkeep at the same time (pantry checks, closet swaps, that kind of thing). Not one more practice to feel guilty about skipping — a schedule that's already written for you.

If your practice runs more "where did I put that jar" than color-coded planner, go give it a read.

A line from the blog that's stuck with me: water doesn't just carry things away — it cleanses.

It's not only about release, it's renewal too, depending on what you're working with.

I spent the last few years avoiding the beach. There was so much anxiety around going to the ocean: wearing a swimsuit, sand everywhere, kids being kids. I really feel like I have missed an oppertunity to work with it more now that I am moving away.

How do you use water in your spell work?

Quick heads-up for the witches on my list — the full moon this Friday (Aug 28) comes with a partial lunar eclipse, wrapping up the eclipse season that kicked off with the solar eclipse on the 12th.

I don't put a lot of ceremony behind marking it, but I've noticed a real "wrap it up" energy in the air the last couple weeks. Flagging it in case you're feeling it too.

Small folklore moment for you: "amphibian" literally means "both lives" in Greek, and frogs earn that name honestly — starting underwater, ending up on land, living proof you can belong to two worlds at once.

That's a big reason so many traditions treat them as threshold creatures — messengers between one state and the next.

I ran into this guy a few weeks ago while I was wrapping up a sound bath — pretty fitting for everything going on.

Anyone else had a critter show up right when they needed the nudge?

It's almost here — Reclaim the Season: A Fall Session on Ritual, Self-Tending & Timing That Works, September 5th at 9:00 AM, virtual via Zoom, $30.

This one's for the moms, the hard workers, the caretakers who somehow give fall away every year without keeping much for themselves.

We're spending two hours on what ritual really is, what self-tending actually requires, and timing that fits your real life — not the Pinterest version but one that works with the mess of everyday life.

You'll walk away with a printable calendar you actually built. Can't make it live? The session's recorded and available to rewatch for a month.
