Finishing up the sapele bridge ladder this afternoon. Sapele has pretty much taken the place of mahogany for projects like this. Sapele is mostly harvested from Sierra Leone or around the Ivory Coast of Africa and is very similar. Mahogany is now protected because of severe over-harvesting over the past few hundred years. It was too pretty to paint, so just some teak oil for now. One more project to check off the list other then fastening it to the boat tomorrow morning.
