One of my favorite gifts I've made recently was this custom whiskey glass engraved with their baby's actual ink footprints from the day he was born. Talk about turning a special moment into a keepsake that lasts forever.
Well... it was perfect.

Then UPS apparently decided the glass needed to be turned it into a limited-edition puzzle. Despite enough bubble wrap to survive re-entry from space, it didn't make the trip to Pennsylvania....

The good news? A brand new one is already being made and headed out the door. This is exactly why we insure our packages, ladies and gentlemen!

Broken glass aside, I still can't get over how sweet this gift idea is. Tiny footprints, handwritten notes, kid artwork, signatures, special dates... those are the things that become priceless years from now.
Here's to the dads, the memories, and the replacement glass currently wrapped in approximately 47 miles of bubble wrap.
