Don't take the girl! One of my favorite country songs of all time. If you haven't heard it, please look it up. Here at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center we take the girls fishing! The fish seem to love the ladies because they sure seem to bite better when they are onboard. Don't be afraid to ask our ladies in the store about fishing. They are very knowledgeable on what is going on and can point you in the right direction. We started this adventure fishing and we still fish hard. Fishing tackle just doesn't pay all the bills. We still have what you need to go fishing. Live mud minnows, frozen bait, soft plastics, offshore tackle, and custom rigs you can't find anywhere else. Good morning from Ocean Isle Beach! Been some absolutely smoking hot days this week. We did the running and gunning technique for the first 2 hours this morning finding a few redfish. We slowed it down once the breeze got going, setting up on a nice little ambush spot. We finished our trip with a few nice black drum, throw-back flounder, stingrays, and small redfish. The dog days of summer are upon us. The fish seem to be biting decent one day and lock jaw the next. I am guessing they are moving around a good bit trying to find comfortable conditions. Food is so abundant they most definitely don't have to stay in one place. Running and gunning will keep a breeze on you. However, I think the right thing to do is stay put letting the fish come to you and that is probably the hardest thing to do right now. Let's go fishing! 803 315 3310

Water temperatures are in the high 80's, but that's not slowing the fish down as much as the fishermen. It's hot! We had a nice little Northwest breeze this morning that helped quite a bit with the heat. The flounder are just pounding the mullet minnows. Even if you aren't getting bit, you can watch the flounder skying on baits in the shallows. Insane! Little redfish, black drum, and all sorts of little critters are hammering shrimp. Some patience, perseverance, and a little know how will eventually find a bigger one. Let's go fishing! 803 315 3310

Where does the time go? I have been doing this long enough now to see young kids come back as grownups. I have taken clients on their last fishing trip. I have witnessed great happiness with a little sadness on the edges. I need to take more pictures! I need to slow it down sometimes. Enjoy the moments, every single last one of them. Time is a thief! I am so blessed and thankful for those that have taken the time to fish with me. Let's go fishing!

We are still looking to put a boat together for tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th and Thursday the 20th. The weather is just going to be too good to miss out on. Give me a call and let’s make it happen. Both will be 12 hour walk on bottom fishing trips with five people. We will be targeting scamp, grouper, mutton, snapper, yellow eye snapper trigger fish vermillion snapper and more! Man! I have caught croaker bigger than that! It has been really good to see several of these juveniles lately. Both redfish and black drum have started to show up in good numbers hopefully making for a good future stock of big ones. Live shrimp and live mullet minnows fished on Carolina rigs are finding action along the oyster beds from these critters. Be patient and hang on tight because Moma usually isn't too far way. I am pretty sure if you look close enough this one still has a little milk on his lips🤣. Let's go fishing! 803 315 3310

Aggressive little fellow! Hate to admit that we catch some little guys sometimes. These little fellows can surprise you on just how hard they can pull. It is also great to see some little redfish as this is the future and the future looks strong. We have been catching several juvenile redfish and black drum lately. Let's go fishing!

The weather looks too good and the fish are biting too good to miss out. I’m going to put together a walk on bottom fishing trip for this upcoming Wednesday August 19th. It’s going to be a 12 hour bottom fishing trip for grouper, snapper, triggerfish and more. Looking for five people at $400 per person plus tip. This trip will be deep water fishing anywhere from 120ft-300ft. It will be with myself. Give me a call and let’s get out there. I’m going to send a text out to our walk on trip client list as well.
