Calling all archers!

Having finished our Multi-Color Indoor League, we are ready to move on to the next challenge.

Starting Monday 20 July, we will start a six-week International Round League.

The International Round is 10 targets, three arrows per target, for a total of 30 arrows. Target face is the black / white "hunter" target in three sizes appropriate to the distance being shot. Scoring is 5 points for the white spot, 4 points for the inner black ring, and 3 points for the outer black ring.

We shoot the round on the first five targets of the walk-through course, and use the practice flat for one target.

Regular "Adult" distances are 20 yards through 65 yards, in five-yard increments.

For those of us who need extra help (those who shot 100 points and below on the indoor rounds) we will form a separate flight, shooting the "Cub" distances of 10-30 yards.

We will start shooting for score at 6:30 PM (practice flat will be available prior to that time for warm-up shots).

Entry fee is $20 per person, payable at the first shoot date.

🏹 NOTICE TO RESIDENTS & VISITORS - BOWFISHING FOR CARP 🐟

With the 2026 Ocean Shores Carp Derby just around the corner, residents and visitors may notice an increase in lawful bowfishing activity throughout the city's canals and waterways.

To help answer questions we've received, we'd like to share what Ocean Shores Municipal Code (OSMC) 7.25.050(I) provides regarding bowfishing within the City of Ocean Shores.

"Bowfishing of Carp. The bowfishing of carp is permitted within the city limits under the following conditions and shall conform to all the regulations established by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW):"

The ordinance further provides:

• Participants must possess all required Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) licenses or permits and comply with all applicable RCW and WAC provisions governing bowfishing.

• Bowfishing of carp shall be conducted in a manner that ensures public safety and does not endanger people, wildlife, pets, or property.

As always, we encourage everyone enjoying our waterways to be respectful of others, remain aware of their surroundings, and recreate responsibly. We hope this information helps answer questions you may have as bowfishing activity increases leading up to the Carp Derby.

Grays Harbor Bowmen members meet monthly on the first Tuesday of each month.

So that's coming up today, Tuesday 7 July 2026.

Time is 6:30 PM and location is our Clubhouse at 902 WA 105, Aberdeen WA.

New members, this would be an opportunity to sign up. Since it's past 1 July, NEW member dues is $50 for the second half of the year.
