UPDATE regarding deregulation of SBRs/Supressors.

Congrats to Gun Owners of America Silencer Shop Brandon Herrera for this historical win for the 2A community and industry.

In short, the parties above filed a lawsuit against the ATF in the wake of the $200 tax stamp being reduced to $0, to which they won. Without the taxable amount, there is no merit to having a registry, thus deemed unconstitutional.

What that means for our customers and us:
We are more than happy and excited any time our rights as Americans are restored in the context of fireams. we can’t wait until the time that we can implement the changes made by possible but the aforementioned lawsuit. HOWEVER, as of this current moment (10am est 8/13/26) us dealers have many questions on how to legally transfer affected items. There is more to this lawsuit than “buy suppressor and walk out with it” that determines how business can be conducted. We have all heard from everyone else involved in the industry aside from the ATF themselves; which at the end of the day is still the current enforcement agency that we all have answer to. As a means of protecting our customers, protecting our business, and providing correct information, we won’t be implementing changes to how we transfer suppressors or short barrel riffles until we have IN WRITING from the ATF, specific guidelines on how revised transfers will be facilitated. We are currently making an attempt to reach our IOI and our local field office with regard to how to proceed.
