A bittersweet day, the day Wood Station Co-op permanently closed our doors...
Thank you to our wonderful customers for your support! Family & friends for helping out when needed at a moments notice. And my amazing staff for arriving each day to support me and my craziness with smiles and hands & hearts open ❤️
Starting a retail Botique was not a childhood dream of mine. It was something that evolved from the Wood Station furniture platform I needed to promote the live edge furniture business I had initially started. But, here I am today, having been in retail (and furniture building) for almost 10 years! It's been an incredible journey, one that had I dreamed it up when I was a child, I'd today be completely fulfilled with the incredible experiences I've had and the friendships I've made along the way along with customers, amazing artists, makers and other small business owners I've meet.
My dad, mom & husband are instrumental in my success. My dad gave me the opportunity to start woodworking (another love that could have been a childhood dream) an opportunity I can't thank him enough for, one that released an artistic love I didn't realize I had. My mom, her praises and support kept me encouraged on the hardest of days and gave me the strength to smile when I knew she would if she were me, haha! And Mike, he is and always will be my biggest cheerleader, he gave me courage, believed in me when I was for sure thinking I'd fail and made me laugh when days were tough, he kept me fed and sane! ❤️
So what will I be doing? The million dollar question lately... I am riding off into the sunset with a huge smile on my face knowing that people who visited WSC felt joy when they browsed the store, visited with whoever was working that day or purchased a gift someone absolutely loved! Those stories truly made me happy and I felt successful for that! I'll be spending time with family, traveling just enough and joining book clubs with friends that we drink good wine, laugh too much and don't read the books! And of course some side hustles. Ya can't put a gal and her sander down! ❤️
