Some good info came out of an ATF briefing in Dallas this week regarding the NFA situation stemming from the recent Hendrix injunction. With Texas being a 2A Sanctuary state, House Bills like 957 & 2622 on the books, and the recent federal district injunction that is in effect, with ATF and DOJ on record now saying they will not appeal the injuction, nor will they take any enforcement action at any level on suppressors transfered in accordance with the GCA....we believe it's safe to say suppressors are finally free of the NFA regulations with other items like SBR's, SBS's, and AOW's to follow very soon.
There is still a legal gray area we have to operate within for the time being but MMI Tactical has made the business decision to proceed with suppressor transfers on 4473's for qualified buyers. We have taken the appropriate business steps and utilized the proper legal processes to feel comfortable in this decision.
It should be noted however there are some downsides to purchasing a suppressor on a 4473 as an individual for the time being, but we will provide detailed guidance on the topic and let our customers make the decision on what is best for them and offer both transfer options at the counter on both Form 4473 and traditional Form 4's. Man it's good to live in Texas.
