New in from Approved Textiles: minimal mending kits! These are stick-on transfer patterns in fun geometric designs (dots, lattice, stripes, and more) that turn a hole or a stain into a design feature instead of a flaw. Perfect if you've got a favorite sweater or pair of jeans that needs a little love. Pair with embroidery floss or a mending yarn from the shop and you're set. Their philosophy? Let's give some love to yarns that don't get enough attention! Cardo by Manos del Uruguay is a bulky 100% Corriedale wool with gorgeous stitch definition, great for a fast, cozy knit. It’s hand dyed in Uruguay for a non profit. The Croft Aran from West Yorkshire Spinners is 100% Shetland wool, soft and perfect for cables. Lucky Tweed by Kelbourne Woolens is an authentic Donegal tweed, aran weight, made in Ireland, with the best fleck. And Nature Spun Sport by Brown Sheep is a workhorse 100% wool sport weight with tons of colors, reliable and aFfOrDaBLe. All great options if you want to try something new! Ok we have to talk about Jimothy. If you haven't seen him, he's the short-spined raccoon from Seattle who's taken over the internet this summer. Well, we don't have a raccoon in the shop, but we do have a lemur that gives serious Jimothy energy. Come meet our lemur (he's a needlepoint kit, not a real animal, don't worry) and tell us if you see the resemblance too.
