Looking for an epic hiking spot? Try Malan’s Peal!

Malan’s Peak is a sub-peak on the northwestern flanks of Mount Ogden. It is an easy to moderate hike from the 29th Street Trailhead that leads into Taylor Canyon, followed by a moderately strenuous ascent of the peak’s north slope.

The trail crests the ridge and offers gorgeous views over Ogden. If you’re looking for a spectacular sunset and a reason to get outdoors, this hike might just be for you.

How to get there:

The trail begins at the 29th Street Trailhead, located at the top of 29th Street on the east side of Ogden.

🥾 Want to get paid to go outside? Join us for our Trip Leader Open House and learn how you can turn your love for the outdoors into a job!

🧗 Ready to take your rope skills to the next level? Our Work at Height and Rescue Training program offers hands-on training for those interested in rope access.

This five-day SPRAT Level I course includes four days of instruction and a final day of skills evaluation.

📍 Outdoor Adventure and Welcome Center, Technical Training Center
💲 $1,750

No previous SPRAT certification is required, but participants must be at least 18 and meet the course’s physical and medical requirements.

Winter is getting closer! ❄️ If you plan to spend the season skiing or snowboarding, our season-long rentals make it easy to get your gear and keep it all season.

🎿 Season rental prices:

Alpine ski or Snowboard package: $170
Youth ski or snowboard package: $150

🐾 WSU students with an active Wildcard get 30% off season rentals!

📅 Season Rental dates:

Nov. 2, 2026: Rentals open for WSU students.
Nov. 16, 2026: Rentals open for WSU faculty, staff, and the general public.

Want to get out of the cold, take a break from homework, or add a new activity to your list of hobbies?

Come climb at our indoor TTC climbing wall! If you’re a student, it’s free! Our routes for the climbing wall are updated about every two weeks so you’ll never get bored. With a variety of difficulties throughout the routes, there will always be a route that fits your style!

If bouldering’s not your thing, we have rope climbing, rappelling, and clinics of all sorts!
