Recently My Father and I had the Honor to make a cremation box for James H. Griffith, who is my fathers cousin. Uncle Jimmy passed early this week. I would just like to express to his family my deepest condolences. It was an honor to make this cremation box. I hope you all like it. While doing this project many memories passed through my mind of “Uncle” Jimmy one of the fondest was in the fall he would take my grandmother and myself back to a crab apple tree to pick the apples off and grandma would make the best crabapple jelly out of those apples. Well uncle Jimmy give gram a hug for me, and pick a bunch of apples for her! Till we meet again.

Well haven’t done much as for woodworking however I did pick up a old Stanley No. 3 level that dates back to 1903-1908 and it’s a sweetheart at that so it was a limited production level. I took it apart and cleaned the level up and then did the whole restoration in around 3-4 hours I love old Stanley tools as many know. However this Level has even more meaning as I got it at an estate sale and it’s previous owner is the grandfather of a good friend of mine. I pray that by restoring this level that I honor the memory of my friends grandfather.

That moment when you realize just how lucky you truly are to not have been injured….. a while back my planer exploded this morning I started stripping it down for the hood parts and found what happened. The black bar holds the blade on and is held down with screws, the last two screws are sheared off. The bar itself is bent. The blade which was brand spanking new shattered effectively making the planer a bomb with razor sharp shrapnel and all. It’s a miracle that I walked away with absolutely no injuries, just being really pi**ed off. Had the board is was planing down not been there I’m positive I would have been hurt and hurt badly.

An update on the cart being made for my future wife (like real soon future wife as in like 8 days we will be married) photos will start in order or how it all started....
The first photo of the lumber is just a representation of how all of my lumber started out. Everything I make starts out as ruff cut lumber I mill it flat myself then proceed from there. ALOT of work goes into everyone of my projects that I make. I thank all for the kind words of encouragement I really do appreciate it.
