We have six trees (10-14’ only) that were ordered with a deposit paid prior to the necessary decision to close Shaver’s Trees this season. If you are interested, please private message Tyler (Tyler Ward) on Facebook 🎄

In 1946, Shaver’s Trees was born as Glenn Shaver began selling Christmas trees at his family home on Rensselaer Avenue. For thirty years, the business remained on Rensselaer Avenue until in 1976 it was handed to Glenn’s son, Terry, who continued the tradition at homes on Elizabeth Street, Knox Street, and Lafayette Street. The holiday season has always been a family affair, as our blood runs green and smells like pine, while the tree yard bustles with Shavers including Tyler, T.O., Matt, Donnie, Duke, and Gavin.

We are proud to provide premium Christmas trees to Ogdensburg and the surrounding community, as well as wreaths, kissing balls, and those signature stand straight stands that no doubt eliminated many spousal arguments.

If you’re lucky, you listened to some Christmas tunes and shared a b**r while Terry baled and tied your tree to your car roof. If you’re really lucky, you just called and gave Carol your name, and later that week Terry stood the perfect tree in your living room. And if you ever arrived after the lights had been turned off, you may have even been sold your tree by Terry in his boxers, boots, and wool coat. Anything for a customer in the name of holiday spirit!

After 75 years, and a very difficult decision, Shaver’s Trees will not open for business this holiday season. We will miss seeing each of you in the tree yard, as it’s truly the most wonderful time of the year.

It has been an honor and a privilege to come into so many homes in Ogdensburg and the greater north country, and to play a small part in your holiday magic for the past 75 years.

With love,
Terry, Carol, Christina, T.O., and Tyler 🎄
