These flowers from Rowes of Faith Flower Farm are really brightening the store up!

It’s been a busy day so far & more is coming. One of our deliveries is expected in an hour, which is bringing veggies, yogurt, cheese & pasta. Our other delivery got delayed until tomorrow, which includes bulk, bread, jarred goods, and chips.

There’s nothing quite like fresh raspberries, especially when they’re no-spray, grown by a local farm & picked shortly before being delivered! 😋

We’ve been getting these from Riverbend Acres out of Parker, PA, and have just 12 pints available this week. Other fruits arriving today include watermelon, apples, and pears.

Plus, the produce cooler will be packed with veggies, like beans, kale, peppers, corn & so much more. One important note - there is NO lettuce this week.

Some items will be here when we open, but some don’t come until a delivery around 1 o’clock.

It’s our first day of the week & we can’t wait to see you! Our hours are:

We are approaching SOUP SEASON 🥣😁

We haven’t made fresh soup the last few weeks, but our freezer is packed with it. It’s a great day to come get some, too, because it’s all 50% off!

When we make a pot of soup, we use ingredients we sell in the store, like produce, grains & milk. It lets us prevent food waste & makes for hearty, tasty soups.

Options in our freezer now include veggie chili, mushroom barley, french onion & borsht.

We made beef broth this week & it’s on sale today, too. Find our full list of sales in the comments below & hope to see you between 10 and 3 today!

Another program coming to our Community Space this month — Seed 2 Supper! 🌱

This FREE class will take place every Thursday from 11AM to 1PM for nine weeks (starting 9/24). Participants will learn a variety of beginning gardening tips & tools to grow their own food on a budget.

We’re grateful that the Penn State Master Gardeners of Venango County came to us with the idea to host this in the space!

If you can’t make it Thursdays, there’s another program on Wednesday evenings at the Venango County Fair Grounds, too.

Our Bulk of the Week is back & this week it’s sesame seeds! 🫙

While these seeds are tiny, they are packed with protein, vitamins & minerals.

Their taste is mild and sweet with nutty undertones, plus toasting them brings out these flavors even more.

If you’ve never seen how they grow, it’s really cool, and we encourage you look up a photo! They grow in little pods on a flowering plant.

There are so many uses for sesame seeds, too. Sprinkle over a stir fry or salad, add to homemade granola or crackers, make a crust for meat or tofu, or top a baked good like bread or buns. Sesame seeds are used to make both sesame oil & tahini, too.

We get our sesame seeds through Frontier Co-op & sell them by the ounce. Find them in a jar on our spice shelf for 10% off through Sunday!

Our Community Space calendar is filling up, including two preservation classes this fall! 🫙

We're doing things a little different this time and excited to partner with the Penn State Extension. They are handling registration, so instead of signing up through us, you'll go to their website (links are below).

The first class on Saturday, September 26, from 12 to 2PM, will focus on water bath canning. This preservation method uses boiling water and high acidity to seal jars of food, like pickles, tomato sauce, salsa & more. And the second class on Saturday, October 10, also from 12 to 2PM, is about pressure canning. This way of canning is used for lower-acidic foods, like veggies and meats. Who’s ready for a great day? 😄 We sure are because we’re open again!

A lot of products are restocked, like produce, bagels, grab and go, chocolate, eggs & milk.

Some more will be here later today or this week, too, like yogurt, granola, crackers, english muffins, salmon & chicken.

And there are a few items we are low on until deliveries next week, including tortilla chips, some bulk items, ice cream sammies & beverages.

What we have is always changing! We work with small farms & food businesses and products are seasonal and come at varying times. If you are looking for something, just ask! We’ll do our best to give you an idea of when we’ll have it available.

Happy September 🌻

Took a minute to enjoy the flowers at a farm pick-up this morning — it was a great start to the day as we prep to reopen. We had a wonderful vacation, but can't wait to see your faces!

We've been busy getting the store nice & stocked. We picked up produce at the farm, like raspberries, watermelon, tomatoes, onions & garlic. Plus received some deliveries at the store, with milk, ice cream, buttermilk & heavy cream.

The grab & go cooler will be full, too, with egg salad, beef broth, tex mex quinoa bowls, snack packs & so much more.

And even more will be arriving tomorrow! We're glad to be back & hope to see you soon. Our hours are:
