Talon motor completion has been delayed again. The endcap manufacture was not to spec and waiting for the remake. I estimate about April 15. Thank you for your patience!

My estimated motor restock was set for March 15. The order will be delayed until about April 1 as rotors are not yet finished for motor builds.

As I said before, I appreciate all the well wishes since my hospital stays, and I am doing well now!

Contrary to rumors, I am not folding up shop. In fact I am moving next door into a suite with twice the current space (we are VERY tight where we are currently located and was lucky to lease the much larger space)! More info as we get close to being in the new space.

The next batch of Talon motor parts should be here in March (including 13.5t motors). The demand was very high prior to the New Year; normally I do not have reorder until late Summer! Thank you for your patience.

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE GOING TO MUDBOSS SHOOTOUT!

After a long conversation with Scotty Ernst last night, a rule decision change was made to allow ONLY the R7 13.5 Stock Spec motor and the Talon 13.5 Stock Spec motor for competition at the event. These motors are easy to identify as they are marked 'Stock Spec' on the can or stator. If the motor says 'Modified' it is not the motor to use.

I have sold all of my Talon 13.5 Stock Spec motors. A new batch is due in March.

Team Power Products Talon Motors!

The idea for this motor started when the team noticed that most top-tier dirt oval events are now run on spec tires. We know we have some of the biggest, baddest motors available for open tire racing, but we also knew there was a need for a smoother bottom-end option, one where ESC adjustability could play a bigger role. That’s where the Talon comes into play.

You’ll also notice significantly less cogging with this motor, which results in a smoother feel and less aggressive drag brake feel when off-throttle. We’ve worked hard over the last year to develop this motor, and now it’s time for everyone to enjoy it. Below are a few notes to keep in mind for the Chili Bowl and beyond.

Gearing
6.0: 23/84
7.0: 25/84
8.0: 27/84

Side note:
On smaller tracks such as Dirt Floor or PT’s, you’ll typically want to go down one tooth on the pinion. On larger tracks like the Chili Bowl, be prepared to go up one tooth on the pinion.

ESC
Always start in blinky mode. However, as mentioned above, this motor is smoother, which allows us to effectively use the boost option in the ESC. This is something you’ll need to tune to your preference, but for us, it has proven to be a very successful option.
Recommended settings:
Boost Start RPM: 8,500
Boost End RPM: 22,500
Boost Timing Range: 8–18

Final Notes
Motor temperatures should remain completely manageable, but remember—a motor fan is almost a must. Fresh batteries are always important, especially at a national-level event.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have updated available list of the first batch of Talon Motors! We have spent many hours this week building Talon motors and are now available. We will continue building motors; if motors are shown out of stock, make sure you click the 'Notify Me' button to get on the first come, first served list!

Thank you very much for your patience! With new US Customs rules in place, it has been a difficult path for the Talon motors to get here!

Working through the Talon Stock Spec motors winds for approval. The Talon Stock Spec 13.5t motor is now ROAR approved! All the modified motors are also ROAR approved.

Take a look at all the motors. Production release of ALL motors on December 1, 2025, make sure you have clicked the 'Notify Me' button on your wind of choice as we may release some earlier!
