💜 Emma's Sewing Adventure 💜

Today we continued one-on-one sewing with Toni!

Seven-year-old Emma Cervantes came in with excitement in her heart and a smile on her face, ready to create her very own pillowcase.

She picked out beautiful purple feather fabrics, carefully lined up her edges, pinned everything in place, and safely stitched her seams together.

It was wonderful watching Emma learn new skills and gain confidence with every step. Mom had a smile on her face too as she watched Emma's project come together!

We are so proud of you, Emma. Your smile fills our hearts, and we loved being part of your sewing adventure today. 💜🧵

Today, Bryson Baumann came to Oklee Quilting for a one-on-one sewing lesson with Toni, and what a fantastic job he did!

Bryson arrived early with a smile on his face, a creative vision in mind, and a willingness to learn.

His project was a pillowcase featuring the beautiful Northern Lights. For the cuff, he chose a wilderness fabric with woodland animals....notice how he chose to place the animals at the bottom as if they were looking up at the dancing lights in the sky? 💯❗️

The inspiration came from a special photo Bryson had taken of the Northern Lights with his dog in the foreground, making this project even more meaningful and personal.

Throughout the hour, Bryson learned about fabric selection, sewing machine basics, following directions, and completing a project from start to finish. He took notes, asked questions, and showed great focus and determination.

At Oklee Quilting, we believe creativity belongs to everyone. Sewing isn't just for girls or women....boys and men can sew too!

Learning to sew encourages math skills, confidence, problem-solving skills, patience, and creativity that can last a lifetime. What we love the most....quilting is as flexible as the people who enjoy it. Spend a quiet afternoon creating on your own, or join a group of fellow quilters where friendships are stitched together one project at a time.

🧵💕 Look what fun happened today at Oklee Quilting! 💕🧵

We had a wonderful group of Girl Scouts join us to create their very own pillowcases, and they did an amazing job! Aren't they adorable? We have a feeling there may have been a badge earned along the way, too! 😉

But these girls didn't stop there. They took it one step further and made extra pillows to donate to the Pennington County Humane Society. ❤️

What a beautiful example of caring, sharing, and giving back to their community. We are so proud of these young ladies and the kindness they showed today.

Thank you, girls, for letting Oklee Quilting be part of your sewing adventure. We loved spending time with you and can't wait to see where your creativity takes you next!

This little gal, Stella Sheman, came into Oklee Quilting yesterday with her Grandma Deb for a one-on-one sewing project time with Toni!. Not sure who was more excited 😄 Grandma, Stella or Toni❣️❣️❣️

Her first project was a beautiful blue pillowcase. 💙😀 She enjoyed it so much she tackled a 2nd project! Look at her dinosaur 🦖 backpack! How cool is that⁉️

I bet she will be back another day! She already picked out another pillowcase project for a gift for someone special!

I think this little girl has a sewing machine on her wish list. 🤞😉 She is hooked....
