Last intro to The Herd

Meet Ivy Legend Dawson

This one is a little extra special because this cowboy is my very own! Heā€™s a fifth-generation cowboy currently competing in breakaway, tie-down calf roping, and, every now and then, we can talk him into running a few junior barrels.

This year he qualified for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and he also won the Junior Breakaway at the 71st Annual Roy LeBlanc Invitational Rodeo.

Watching him carry on a family legacy that runs five generations deep is something I don't take for granted.

Welcome to The Herd, cowboy

Meet Belinda!

Now technically, Belinda is the most seasoned member of The Herd. Sheā€™s been there, done that, and sheā€™s here to do it all over again! And Lord willing, I hope Iā€™m as young as she is when I get to her age!

When I first met Belinda at a barrel race, she had absolutely no clue who I wasā€”but that didnā€™t stop her from cheering on my entire crew like sheā€™d known us forever. ā¤ļø That right there tells you a whole lot about the kind of person she is.

Sheā€™s a 3x Paint World Champion, 3x PBRIP Champion, a grandma, and STILL rides three times a day AND unloads her own hay. Yā€™allā€¦ I think itā€™s safe to say sheā€™s the real deal. Sheā€™s got the grit, the heart, and the kind of determination you just canā€™t teach.

Belinda, welcome to The Herd!

Meet Hemphill D. Davion

This one is a little different because he isnā€™t a contestant, heā€™s the voice behind the microphone!

An Okmulgee native, husband, father, accidental Western influencer, motivational speaker, and rodeo announcer, he travels the country telling contestantsā€™ stories from the arena floor.
He has a gift for the details, taking the time to learn the contestants he announces so he can tell their stories, not just call their names.

Heā€™s announced for the ACRA, CRRA, IPRA, Black Rodeo USA, SERA, and The Roy LeBlanc Invitational Rodeo, and weā€™re pretty dang proud to have him as part of The Herd!

Meet Peyton!

Peyton is a 15-year-old breakaway roper competing across several associations, including the Texas High School Rodeo Association, Youth Rodeo, and CPRA.

Sheā€™s already built an impressive list of accomplishments, including 2023 YRA Breakaway Champion, 2024 TJHRA State Breakaway Champion, and 2024 Houston Invitational 19U Breakaway Champion, along with many other accolades!

Peyton, welcome to The Herd! šŸ©· We canā€™t wait to cheer you on and watch you continue to rope your way to the top!

Meet Mataya!

Mataya is a 15-year-old cowgirl competing in barrels and poles, and Iā€™ve had the chance to see her dedication firsthand! Sheā€™s often practicing with us while Iā€™m giving riding lessons...let me tell you she's always putting in the work and striving to improve. Her commitment to getting better is something I truly admire, and I canā€™t wait to cheer her all the way to the winnerā€™s circle! šŸ†

Mataya, welcome to The Herd!

Good morning! I'll be posting throughout the day with more introductions!

Meet Aaron

At just 6 years old, Aaron has been around horses his whole life, with parents who train horses and recently started competing himself! Outside the arena, you can find him playing baseball, riding dirt bikes, or being the CUTEST Michael Jackson impersonator around! šŸ˜‚ Inside the arena, he has his sights set on one big goalā€”winning a buckle! And I sure hope that buckle is as shiny as MJā€™s glove! āœØ

Aaron, welcome to The Herd! šŸ©· We canā€™t wait to cheer you on and watch you chase that buckle!

Meet Kason

At just 7 years old, Kason is already making a name for himself in the rodeo world! šŸ¤ šŸŽ The grandson of the late Randy Jackson, a true rodeo icon, Kason has some big boots to fillā€”but heā€™s already carving out a legacy of his own. Heā€™s a 2024 Red Dirt Rodeo Series Champion and has also collected multiple titles in the Edmond Jr. Rodeo and CPRYA!

LET'S GO KASON!

Phyllis loved the leopard ice chest I made so much that she decided it needed a matching water cooler!
