Board and Block Co.

04/15/2026

This isn’t a post I wanted to make, and I’ve gone back and forth all day on how to say it.

Earlier today, a huge part of our business was shut down—just like that. We got an email from corporate saying The Painted Tree is closing for good, and we have about a week to get everything out.

We’re based in Kansas, but we had spaces in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma (2), North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. That’s a big hit for a small business like ours.

Do we have a plan? Yes… and no. We know what needs to be done, but we need a little time to get everything lined up.

What I can tell you is this—we’re not going anywhere. Not even close. We’ll keep bringing you the same custom gear and products you’ve come to expect.

For now, the easiest way to order is to reach out directly or hop on our website and grab what you need.

You can also still find us at Queen Bee Boutiques & The Vintage Bee in Blue Springs, Maxi Laine’s Boutique in Olathe and (SURPRISE!!!) a brand new Boutique in Joplin, MO that just opened TODAY - Unique Boutiques Joplin!

We’ll figure this out like we always do—maybe with a little less sleep and a lot more caffeine.

And if nothing else, at least now we don’t have to fold quite as many t-shirts… silver linings, right?

Hey friends — quick reminder from all of us at Board & Block Co. 👋

If you love what we do here with wood, laser work, and custom pieces, you’ll also want to follow our sister brand:

🧢 Patch Hats — custom hats, engraved and printed patches, and some seriously cool headwear for businesses, teams, and everyday wear.
We built both brands with the same heart:
✔ Made with purpose
✔ Built by family
✔ Backed by hard work

Go show Patch Hats some love and give them a follow — big things are coming and you won’t want to miss it.
