LOCAL WOMAN, MRS. BYERS, ARRESTED AFTER SEWING HUSBAND INTO BED SHEETS AND ATTACKING HIM WITH FRYING PAN
Pierce County, GA
Deputies say Linda Byers, 42, was arrested Friday night after allegedly turning her household frustrations into what the sheriff’s office is calling “a domestic situation involving textiles, cookware, and poor decision‑making.”
According to investigators, the incident began when her husband, Carl Byers, 45, made what he believed was a harmless joke about her “folding technique.” Mrs. Byers reportedly responded by waiting until he fell asleep, then sewing him into the bed sheets with the precision of someone who has watched too many quilting tutorials.
When Carl woke up and realized he was immobilized, he attempted to roll off the bed, prompting Linda to allegedly grab a frying pan and swing it with the confidence of a woman who has never once missed a mosquito.
Neighbors reported hearing “a loud clang,” followed by Carl yelling, “Linda, I swear I’ll fold the towels the way you like!”
Deputies arrived to find Carl still partially cocooned, described as “a distressed burrito with trust issues.” He suffered minor injuries and a major lesson in household diplomacy. The frying pan, a well‑seasoned 12‑inch cast iron, was taken into evidence and labeled “Item #4: Domestic Skillet.”
Linda was charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and “creative misuse of linens.” When questioned, she allegedly told deputies, “He said my sewing machine was a waste of money. I proved him wrong.”
The sheriff’s office reminds residents that while sewing is a wholesome hobby, turning your spouse into a quilt square is not recommended.
