Catherine Sieck and Rachel Blodgett taught the most amazing workshop on Sunday to the loveliest group. Led by Catherine we made paintbrushes of fox, squirrel, goat, and horsehair, all lovingly found and harvested. 🦋 Catherine’s show at Tama One shares examples of the brushes and mineral pigment paints she’s created. 🦋 Rachel’s plant dyed textiles (sewn together by Rachel on her machine) became personalized tool keepers. We also had the amazing opportunity to experiment with and take home Rachel Blodgett botanical inks! 🦋 This is a MAGICAL class and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who would like to join them in the future for their next one. Thanks so much to everyone who participated and to the two of them for their total generosity and fun! ✨🦋✨

She seeks to make work imbued with the vitality of the cycles of death and rebirth. Apprenticing to the living world to try and get that lush/whole feeling right and letting the big archetypal, land-based stories hold the personal-sized, intimate story.
