This vintage Dresden Plate quilt made some gorgeous placemats.

These are so versatile to use as placemats for a table setting or as a table doily. Each one has a raw cut scalloped edge. Made with vibrant vintage fabric.

When making things from old quilts, I prefer to use ones that are damaged and beyond conventional use. That can sometimes present some challenges.

This double wedding ring quilt was past its prime but still beautiful. It required some strategic patching, but made some gorgeous oven mitts and pot holders and will live another life in a few kitchens now.
