There is an unmistakable magic in vintage pieces that have stood the test of time. The weathered wood, the worn edges, the subtle marks of love . . . it’s a glimpse into a past life. That’s one of the reasons I love vintage items - the imperfections don’t detract from the value, they add character, they tell a story. . . and over time, I think it’s these stories that deepen the beauty. ❤️
The past six months I’ve been writing a new story for myself. After the sudden end of a 21-year marriage (24 years together), I’ve found myself in a season of profound change, grief and growth. My days have been filled with nurturing my kids, focusing on my mental and physical well-being, and drawing strength from my friends and family. I’ve been pouring my energy into long overdue repairs/projects around my historic 1890 house, tending to my chickens and my yard, learning to sea kayak and scull (I love being on the ocean), walking 10-20 miles a week, and showing up for weekly therapy sessions. Healing has proven to be anything but linear, yet every step has nudged me toward being a stronger, better version of myself.
During this time, my vintage business has naturally taken a back seat. I simply didn’t have the bandwidth to hunt for new treasures or to restock my spaces. While other areas in my life have seen unprecedented change/growth, my vintage spaces have admittedly been sitting stagnant the last few months.
As the fog starts to lift, I’m slowly making my way back to it. . . . yesterday I took a load of fresh inventory to my space at and soon I’ll restock ❤️ Coming back to vintage feels like a welcome homecoming after the hiatus.
Every vintage item I find, clean up and love again is a gentle reminder that, like these cherished pieces, I too am worthy - scratches, chips and all. 🥹 Worth isn’t defined by perfection, but it’s in the story and the resilience.
In moments of profound pain and loss, I recognize this pain is only possible because of the deep love and beautiful chapters I was fortunate enough to share with someone. I’m learning to honor the process of becoming and reminding myself that cracks and scars are a testament to a life well-lived - and for that I am so grateful.
Thank you for being a part of my journey and for supporting my vintage spaces. 😊 Your encouragement and understanding means more than words can express. Here’s to embracing every story, every scar, and all the richness and value that comes with time.
