Labor Day weekend plans? We’ve got a few ideas. 👀

Take a stroll through the Old Market, grab a patio seat, pop into a few shops, stay for dinner (and maybe dessert; we’re not judging). Basically, make a day of it.

However you spend the long weekend, we hope it’s full of good food, good company, and a little extra time to enjoy the neighborhood.

Meet Gayle Christensen!

Gayle joined the Old Market Board in February 2025 as our Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator, bringing 37 years of experience in education, counseling, and social work—and a whole lot of passion for the community.

When asked what inspires her about the Old Market, Gayle points to the possibilities. “The bones are there… let’s explore, expand and nurture this historical gem.”

If she could describe the Old Market in one word? Perpetual. We couldn’t agree more.

Her go-to spot is La Buvette, which she says “transports her anywhere.” And when she’s not exploring the Old Market, you’ll likely find her traveling—she recently spent three weeks in Italy! 🇮🇹

We’re grateful to have Gayle’s energy, experience, and curiosity on the board.
