It's going to be a great week in the garden:

🦖 Dig into the world of ancient dinos with our exhibit: Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors, produced by The Imagine Team. On display now through September 7.

🐶 Leash up your pups and join us for a pawsitively good time in the garden tonight and at Leashes at Lauritzen from 5 to 8 p.m.

🌼 Discover the design, plants, art, and more at our first satellite location, Polina Gardens, with a guided walking tour on Thursday, June 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

🌋 Join Dinosaur Ranger Anthony on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to noon for a roaring good time as we explore fossils, dinosaurs, and watch an exciting volcano experiment.

🙆 Start your morning off right with the relaxing motions of Tai Chi on Tuesday, June 9 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. or unwind with Yoga on Wednesday, June 10 from 6 to 7 p.m.

📄 Try your hand at the ancient art of origami by making your own paper hydrangeas on Saturday, June 13 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Before the era of the dinosaurs, there lived the giant dioon (𝐷𝑖𝑜𝑜𝑛 𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑢𝑚). This prehistoric plant has been around for approximately 170 million years and features a crown of large, compounded leaves resembling palm or fern fronds. As one of the tallest cycad species, they can reach heights of up to 50 feet in their natural habitat and mature specimens can easily live for several hundreds of years. Come discover this ancient plant up close in our floral display hall.
