➻ An aspiring archivist determined to begin a "serious" life after an undistinguished undergraduate career takes up residence in the Italian countryside. Here, he becomes the all-purpose assistant to the Baronessa, known to her friends as Coco, a defiantly youthful and naturally flamboyant woman of ninety-two. Told with the signature wit, charm, and humanity that made "Less" an international phenomenon, "Villa Coco" is a dazzling, sun-soaked ode to life itself, a meditation on how seriously we ought to take ourselves, and a b***y Mediterranean ballad about becoming who we've always wanted to be.

Six months before she died, Willa Cather called her 1927 novel Death Comes for the Archbishop her “best book.” A perennial favorite for people who love New Mexico, the novel tells an unusual story of two French priests and best friends serving on the American frontier before the arrival of the railroad. In The Bright Edges of the World, Garrett Peck traces Willa Cather’s adventures in the Southwest and how they influenced her 'best book.'

On Sunday, June 7th at 2 pm, Peck—author, historian, and guide of the Willa Cather Santa Fe tour—will discuss and sign his latest release. For fans of Willa Cather, the American Southwest, or timeless literature, "The Bright Edges of the World" is an exhilarating guided trek.
