Another year, and another post to remind the citizens of Oneida!!!
As you drive throughout the town and county, you have surely noticed the āholy fireworks revivalā with the colorful tents going up! The jury is still out on which one actually sells the cheapest in town but there is absolutely no doubt, multiple claims being made!
So as the 4th of July holiday gets ever so closer and we celebrate the birth of this great country, us at the Oneida Police Department want to send out a little information!
While you and your family are enjoying your lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, whistlin' bungholes, spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, ho**ey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or whistlin' kitty chasersā¦.keep a few things in mind!!
š the town of Oneida does have a ānoise ordinanceā that is from 11pm-7am. As much fun as we know fireworks areā¦always try to be courteous of your neighbors, because they might be laying in bed wondering āIs that it!!!ā
š§Ø Fireworks: low explosive pyrotechnic devices used for aesthetic and entertainment purposesā¦in lament termsā¦they go BOOM š„!!! They make pretty colors!!! They make you go WOW!! (No matter how cheap they claim to be) They can blow things up!! The ole saying āitās all fun and games until someone loses an eyeāā¦.i think thatās an old saying anyway! But fireworks donāt discriminate and they will gladly help you lose an eye, an ear, remove finger(s), a hand(s), and even yours or someone elseās life! So please, treat fireworks with respect and care, because NObody wants to wake up on July 5th missing their coveted ābooger pickerā
So get ready for your social media feed to be pictures of āfireworksā!
āDid anyone hear that boom, It shook the houseā
The lady down the road complaining about all the fireworks!
Questions about when the fireworks start!
šŗ š š„ š The 4th of July is a holiday that families like to get together and enjoy summer! With those celebrations, it usually brings cookouts, BBQ, Beer, good food, laughs, and again..things that go boom! Weāve already covered the missing fingers..if you need reassurance, try to button your pants with just your thumb and pinkyā¦or no thumb at all! Fingers are more important than one might think!
š We canāt help you with the āgood foodā partā¦but we can give you some sound solid advice on partaking in too many alcoholic beverages and attempting to traverse the highways, streets, and roads of Scott County! As weāve read the comments from avid posters on the social media about the āroad conditionsā throwing too much alcohol on top of that isnāt the route to go! We encourage you to have fun, enjoy family, and even drink a few if thatās what you likeā¦BUT please PLEASE have a sober driver! Make a phone š call!! Heck even call the PD if you canāt find someone to drive! Your life and someone elseās lives are more important! AND again, nobody wants to wake up July 5th in the Scott County Jail! I assure you, no matter how drunk you get, those cots do not sleep well and the food will not be the quality you had at your cookout!
So we finish this by saying!! Have fun!! Enjoy time with family and friends!!! Find somewhere to see great fireworks..or snakes and sparklers if thatās your thing!! But letās all try to make it to July the 5th with all our extremitiesā¦.and be smart!! Aināt nobody got time for an uncomfortable stay at the SCJC! Dont drink and drive!! And try not to do stupid things, becausee It usually ends up with stupid prizes!
Have a happy and safe 4th of July!!
GOD bless everyone in Oneida and Scott County!
GOD bless America!!
And if you figure out the cheapest in town..let us all know! Some of us might be trying to stretch a dolla!! Or just to say it plain..āpa pa pa poorā lol!
And DONāT leave Terry in charge of your āblack cat boom boom sticksā with a dead wheelchair battery! Because screaming āback it up Terry, Back it upā doesnāt help the situation!
