Another amazing school year is here!

We’re so grateful for the school supplies donated this past Sunday by our Southside friend and neighbor, Alison Billman. Alison was born in Treadwell, grew up in Delhi, and is a former 1st grade teacher. Referencing 17 years at UC Berkeley and a Fulbright to provide professional development to English language teachers in Norway, Alison insists that all 6 year olds — regardless of their socio-economic status — have the same needs (including new teeth 😆)! She says that “good tools help students engage in a joyful way” and that she sees her donation as a way to relieve “stresses on income” that can make a strong start to the new school year unaffordable.
