Prepare to be captivated by the night sky this June, as it offers a series of mesmerizing astronomical events. Here’s your stargazing guide:
✨ June 1 – Mars Meets the Moon: Witness the Red Planet and a waxing crescent Moon in close proximity, creating a stunning early evening spectacle.
🌕 June 11 – Strawberry Full Moon: At 3:44 AM PDT, the Moon reaches its full phase, traditionally known as the Strawberry Moon, illuminating the night with its radiant glow.
🪐 June 18 – Saturn’s Celestial Dance: In the pre-dawn hours, the last quarter Moon aligns closely with Saturn, offering a picturesque view for early risers.
🌞 June 20 – Summer Solstice: At 7:42 PM PDT, the Northern Hemisphere experiences the longest day of the year, marking the official start of summer.
🌙 June 22 – Venus and the Waning Crescent: Just before sunrise, look east to see Venus shining brightly alongside a delicate waning crescent Moon.
🌑 June 25 – New Moon: The absence of moonlight provides optimal conditions for deep-sky observations. Ideal for viewing galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.
🌘 June 29 – Mars Occultation: In a rare event, the Moon will pass in front of Mars, temporarily obscuring it from view—a phenomenon known as a lunar occultation.

This supernova remnant looks like a bubble filled with blue and red clouds of dust and gas, floating amid a million stars. These stars are visible all around the bubble and even can be seen peeking through it.

The Cygnus OB2 star cluster resembles a night sky blanketed in orange, purple, and gray clouds. The center of the square image is dominated by purple haze. This haze represents diffuse X-ray emissions, and young stars, detected by the Chandra X-ray Observatory. Surrounding the purple haze is a mottled, streaky, brick orange cloud. Another cloud resembling a tendril of gray smoke stretches from our lower left to the center of the image. These clouds represent relatively cool dust and gas observed by the Spitzer Space Telescope. Although the interwoven clouds cover most of the image, the thousands of stars within the cluster shine through. The lower-mass stars present as tiny specks of light. The massive stars gleam, some with long refraction spikes.

It seems like the ion tail is still wrapped up in the dust tail, turning it slightly blue. I am hoping it twists off soon so l can get some nice photos of some tail structure.
