Lots of animals leave tracks where the hind and fore paws overlap. And the soil consistency can distort tbe size and shape of tacks

One of the ways in which the tracks of young black bears can stand out from say large coyote and or even large cat tracks

Is in how their rear paws can resemble human feat, and their front paws can resemble human hands when their toes are splayed out.

For those who are just getting into studying the tracks of wild animals,

This is a good example of how much a track from the same paw of the same animal can vary depending on the current disposition of the soil they are walking on.

Both of these tracks are from the right rear paw of a young black bear, just a few paces apart
