Show and tell. Meet Ron. He brought us the most interesting quilt to share. This quilt was made by his mother. He said she made a dozen or more of these. I was intrigued so he shared the story. Barbara lived near her friend Gloria. Gloria’s friend was a doctor who hosted many parties so Gloria collected the bags. She brought bags to Barbara, then Ron and his dad were put to work. The two of them spent many hours cutting. The quilts were eventually sold but Ron was able to snag this one for himself. A great momento of his Mother. Thanks for sharing Ron!

Show and tell. One of my favorite things to watch in my shop are the memories that are made between grandparents and grandchildren around sewing and quilting. This is yet another beautiful project. Carolyn and Ali have been coming in together for years and picking out fabrics. This summer was Ali’s time to help Carolyn make a quilt for her bed. They chose all the fabrics carefully and enjoyed their time sewing together. Little sister Emma even got involved clipping threads and helping with placement decisions. Carolyn then hand quilted and Ali learned how to do that as well. Beautiful! So much love in this quilt. Thank you for sharing the journey. I love to watch these moments!!!

This post may seem less than exciting but I can not tell you how much I love this new blender from Moda. It’s called 3 Sisters Solid but as I hope you can see it’s not really a solid. Just those beautiful time worn colors that 3 Sisters of Moda is known for. We have Breathtaking Blues of Moda on the way here in all the precuts and then the yardage soon to follow. Stay tuned. This one is gorgeous!
