Beauregard Drugs aims to serve community
Customers of Beauregard Drugs know that owners Tucker and Tiffany Simmons and their staff put people first. That’s why the store’s motto is “Our Mission is Your Health.” “That does not mean for a specific time; it is ongoing,” Tucker and Tiffany said. “We are accessible to the patient and want to get to know each patient, and we want the patients to know us.”
Beauregard Drugs offers personalized service with the conveniences of larger drug stores. “Though we are an independent pharmacy we provide all necessary health care needs that a particular patient may have. We are also part of a co-op and if we don’t have something we can usually order it and have the next day.” Pharmacist Tucker Simmons worked for a chain pharmacy locally for more than five years and saw the need for a community drug store in Beauregard. Beauregard Drugs has since added a dollar section and expanded its vitamin and over-the-counter sections. By mid-fall, the business hopes to add compounding. Beauregard Drugs has also been awarded certification in orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics. Along with convenience and prescriptions, Beauregard Drugs also offers a wide selection of gift items. The store accepts most if not all insurances and the co-pay is the same as chain pharmacies. “Because we are independent we really try to get to know each of our patients as individuals, not just as a number. We offer a variety of services to the community that includes: delivery to patients who are unable to make it to the pharmacy, giving immunizations, we have a drive thru and an after-hours emergency number. Patients can request refills by Internet or by a phone app if they chose not to talk directly with someone in the pharmacy.”
“In the coming years we want to be a mainstay in this community, where everyone knows that we can take care of their healthcare needs. Our desire is that we can become the community pharmacy a place where patients of all generations to come. This pharmacy is about the health and wellbeing of the community and surrounding areas. We also give back a small portion to the local high school. We own the building and have had many inquiries for next door, but we are holding out to find a doctor that would open an office to also help the community.”
