This time of year is just really hard on us plant freaks! It's so hot and dry that it's miserable for both us and our cherished "babies"! But we are also so optimistic that we want more "babies"! The battle is real!
So instead of bringing in trailer loads of cool plants, we pick up a few rare beauties that we rarely come across!
Case in point.... Today, we picked up Kidneywood trees!!!!! Google them! Once you do, you will know how badly you must have them! We picked up one eons ago, not sure they'd be able to handle our heavy clay soils... (They are a Texas native, but to drier regions). That plant rooted into the ground through the pit while I was "thinking about it"! So I had to build a bed around it! I've never found it since, until now!
We also found a fantastic nativ milkweed for the first time and a completely new tropical plant that supposed to be a real collectors dream!!! So, hang tough, water, hydrate, rest, repeat and know fall is right around the corner!
