Let’s get ready to make awesome! I am back at our rental and ready to get back into my dreams of making!
I am forever grateful for the texts, emails, comments and calls!! What a community we have!
Grant and I have some unpacking to do, a little rest and then shopping for our new location in north Idaho. But given all the chaos, rest and creative mediation will restore us first.
There are so many moments/pictures to share of heroism this past week but none more impactful than the one attached to this post. Mike Ellis is the original poster and if a photograph was to ever hit at the heart… this is it.
Recovery, gentle rest and time to gratefully reflect is in order. I look forward to the coming chapters. Zack goes to college next week. He’s enjoying his best friends this week in Oregon. Gracie started her big girl job this morning (so excited for her) and Grant and I are starting our new chapter as empty nesters. 😭😭😭😭😭
All in all, life is full of very Good Vibes! Thank you for being a part of it with me. Let the fabric cutting begin!

Our move began earlier than our hopes in order to take care of Norma. However, the plan was already understood to move after our youngest graduated HS to be in a space quiet and relax.
In just a couple hours, we sign over our home of 11 years. The dream crafting space is one I had designed myself. Two spaces for my creative children, and one for me. Although as they grew, I just took it all over!! lol.
This is a time for new beginnings and closing this chapter is so difficult on us all.
Yes, we are all crying in the family pic. Including the sister photographer.
UPDATE:
First, Norma went home to her Lord, family, besties and kitty cats. I can hear her laugh as I write this. Damn I miss that laugh!!! At 12.29am Monday, the angels came and got her and I was at the hospital by 5.30am only to find her room occupied by another patient. 😳 a new tenant plus the vague message left on my phone by the nurse was evident… she passed.
I am broken and sleep deprived so catching the first flight back to Portland to help my family seems reasonable, lol.
The kids and Grant worked hard getting things ready to go. My sister came to help which is AWESOME! 🤩 thanks sister (daughter, lol). And thank you Lori and Patrick too 😘😘
I couldn’t sleep at all. Luckily the day is a quiet drive…slow as the trucks are loaded. I was up at 3.30am to see my boy off to work. A slow long hug that aches. Same with my girl last night. Changing directions is so difficult but I know our tight knit family will only be stronger.
Fire Update on our rental house and shop… everything is still untouched but evacuation is still in place. Movers are supposed to get us in on Wednesday but I’m not sure that will be possible. God has his timing. We will get in when we do. But for now… on to a new journey for our little fam!
Looking forward to actually posting business content next. 💖 Thank you for your calls, prayers and texts!! They have kept me strong. This season will be a memory soon, I know.

This post sounds chaotic because life is right now.
The past 3 days has been incredibly difficult. Norma has fallen unconscious and she will soon be meeting her Savior. But in a crazy and biblical moment, after hospice left we received an alert 🚨 to go now!! I’ve been so focused on Norma, I had no idea what is happening.
With the help of a neighbor, my sis and bro in law (who God amazingly guided to our house) and police officer, we were able to get Norma in the back of the police car. 🚓 Her first and only police car ride! She and my husband went to the hospital and I followed in the sea of cars trying to get off the hill.
The GVQS shop is closed up completely and I pray we will be ok. Pictures and Valuables are with us. Now my husband and I are reunited and our dogs are with us. Norma is the hospice in a hospital now and they suggested we to leave. 😢😭She won’t let go!! I’m beside myself!!! 😭. My husband said if she is still with us tomorrow morning I can go back to the hospital. This is the most stressful and painful time of my life. Please if you pray, please, please, please pray for Norma to go be with Jesus. Please pray for my neighbors… we are in a temporary rental. I won’t be losing things that can’t be replaced. Most importantly…My family is together. We are blessed. But my neighbors have more challenges, this is their homes and lifetimes of belongings.
FYI Client quilts are with me. They are safe. I pray for everything else to make it through. I’ll keep you updated.
God is in control. Norma I love you so much… we are safe and still your huckleberry! Im sorry to be away from you! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
1. first pic is our house, 2. Is at the hospital, 3. Is from downtown, 4. Is near my SIL’s house.

Well… plans have changed.
I’ve been working as quickly as I can to set up our temporary home, prepare orders, and unpack the shop while Norma sleeps—which is now about 18–20 hours a day.
Our family’s plan was to move to North Idaho after our son’s graduation, but Norma’s need for family care became an immediate priority. I moved into a rental with her in Spokane just last week. We truly believed that good nutrition, consistent care, and being together would help her regain some strength. Instead, we’ve been met with a different path. She is declining so quickly that each day brings a noticeable change.
On Saturday, Norma woke up in significant pain. Her illness, combined with dehydration and muscle wasting, is causing her body to ache. We were scheduled to meet her new primary care physician next week to focus on keeping her comfortable, but I don’t think we can wait that long. I’ve arranged for hospice to begin caring for her in the next couple of days. This morning, the first words she spoke were that she wanted to be with God. 🥲
In moments like these, I’m reminded why I love quilting so much. The creative process becomes a place of peace when life feels heavy. Quiet stitches give worried hearts somewhere to rest and busy hands something gentle to do when words are hard to find.
I’ll be back with quilting content soon. Right now, my heart and mind are where they need to be. The fabric, the patterns, and the stitches will still be waiting tomorrow. Today, I’m simply choosing to be present with someone I love.
Thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and your grace. They mean more than you know. ❤️

🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸Land of liberty, home of the brave!
Having traveled to many countries around the world, I know how deeply blessed I am to call America home. I feel lucky and honored to live in a country where my creative spirit has endless opportunity— 🥰 where I can dream, build, create, start over, and keep going. Blessed beyond measure. ❤️🤍💙
Six months ago, I never could have imagined the personal challenges ahead.
Many of you know I care for my Aunt Norma. Right after the Portland Quilt Show, we were told she was very ill and possibly had only a year left, if that . Our plan to move back toward Idaho/Spokane after our son graduated suddenly accelerated…FAST.
So, we moved our lives, my warehouse, and our business while waiting for our Oregon home to sell in a challenging market.
But today, this message comes with completely positive vibes! ❤️
A few weeks ago, we received incredible news: Norma does NOT have cancer. She has pancreatitis, which is still serious, but after being told pancreatic cancer, this news felt like an enormous gift. 🙏
And more good news…
✨ Norma moves in with us Tuesday.✨ My temporary shop space is almost ready.✨ Our rental house is coming together. a space while our house sells
✨ And on July 10, I’M BACK on social media, stronger than ever!
Grant and I won’t be celebrating today with hot dogs, friends, or family. Instead, we’re celebrating by looking forward, with gratitude, hope, big goals, and a whole lot of Good Vibes.
I cannot wait to create a beautiful, welcoming space for the clients and creative community I adore.
Happy Birthday, America. 🇺🇸 I’m so grateful to call you home. ❤️🤍💙

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women who have raised, loved, guided, and mentored the next generation. 💕
Some days of motherhood are just plain hard. We are tired, second guessing our lessons, wondering if we’re doing enough, and fumbling through trying to get it all right. Truthfully… there is no perfect handbook for being a mom. We are all learning as we go.
One of the greatest blessings of my life has been raising two incredible humans the world has loved from the very start. There is no compliment sweeter to me than hearing kind things about my children. That is a gift beyond words.
Missing my mom makes this holiday tender for me. There is so much I still want to tell her… so many moments where I wish I could pick up the phone and say, “Mom… you were right.” ❤️
And for the women who are not mothers, whether by circumstance or by choice, your love and mentorship still matter deeply. The way you pour into others is a beautiful gift.
Honestly, patchwork reminds me so much of motherhood. We take little pieces and stitch them together with love. Some pieces are worn, stretched, over-pressed, or carry a little hurt… but somehow, in the end, it still becomes something beautiful. And when it’s all finished, what remains is warmth, comfort, and love.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, bonus moms, mentors, and women who nurture others every day. You are deeply cherished and so very loved. 🩷

Before I ever worked for myself, I worked for big corporations, and one phrase stuck with me: under promise, over deliver.
As a customer myself, it still surprises me how often orders take days… even weeks… to arrive. Of course, once a package leaves our hands, it’s at the mercy of the postal system. But getting it out the door quickly? That part is on me.
With the rise of Amazon, expectations have been set incredibly high; sometimes unrealistically so. And while I may not be perfect, I truly give it my all every single day. My hope is that you feel that effort when your package arrives.
Because it’s more than just shipping an order.
Every package that leaves here is meant to feel like a gift you bought for yourself, 🎁💝carefully wrapped, personally handled by me, and sent with a heartfelt note of appreciation and a prayer that something beautiful will be created from it.
Meanwhile, I’m still waiting on an “organic shampoo” I ordered two weeks ago… from a company with a full team behind it. And I can confidently say, you’ll likely receive your package from me long before that one shows up. 🤦🏻‍♀️
And by that measure? I’m pretty proud.
Enjoy your package, and thank you for making another day at the quilt shop such a special one. 🤍
