M Seed Thrift Store & Outreach

M Seed Thrift Store & Outreach M Seed Outreach provides assistance and finances for people who struggle with substance abuse by offering 12-month faith based programs.

Founded in 2011, by Jeff and Glenda Thompson in Oregon City, Oregon. We started M Seed Outreach to be a vessel to reach out to the poor, homeless, people who have been imprisoned, abused, and suffer from addiction. We meet people where they are at, to bring them hope and a way off the streets. Our own daughter struggled with addiction. We were not equipped to help her and started to educate oursel

ves to gain as much knowledge, understanding and wisdom by researching and analyzing drug addiction and recovery. Finding out the cost for a residential treatment program was much too expensive and our insurance only covered 30 days. Thirty days didn’t seem long enough. We started to search alternative ways to help our daughter if she decided she wanted help. We realized she would need to be removed from her current enablers and triggers for her to be successful in her recovery. After much research we found several non-profit, 12 month, faith based out of state programs that would accept her at no cost. We thought 12 months would really give addicts a chance to conquer addiction, grow in wisdom, be healed of their past hurts, change their thinking, friends, life style and find their identity. God put a desire in Jeff’s heart and mine to start an outreach that would make us a liaison between the addict and these programs. Our plan was simple…most addicts can not think clearly to help themselves get out of the dark hole they are in, so we locate an available program that has an opening, help them with the application, interview process, purchase items they may need (such as toiletries and clothing)we drive them, purchase an airline ticket or whatever transportation is needed and we es**rt them to the program. We care and keep in touch with them while they are in the program and send care packages, pray and encourage them. We decided to start a small thrift store to raise money in order to provide these services and operate with volunteers. We have helped hundreds of people. Our Mission to be a vessel to reach out to people who suffer from substance abuse. We encourage people to make positive changes. Restore the lives of those we send to recovery that they’ll conquer addiction, grow in wisdom, be healed of their past hurts, mend past relationships and become a healthy productive part of our community and reconnect with friends, family and community so they can live a functioning life free from substance abuse.

As last year was coming to a close, one of the recovery programs we partner with reached out and shared that they were facing a $6,000 shortfall and needed help covering their monthly expenses. They asked if we might be able to donate, explaining that any amount would make a difference.

Our first response was that we could contribute $1,000. But after we got off the phone, we couldn't shake the feeling that we were being called to do more. The need weighed heavily on our heart, so we called them back and told them we would send a check for the full $6,000.

This program has been a tremendous blessing to so many people. We have seen God work through it in powerful ways, restoring lives, healing families, and helping individuals find freedom from addiction. Knowing the impact they have made, it was an honor to be able to support them in their time of need.

The only reason I'm sharing this story is because one of our volunteers recently encouraged me to share more of the miracles we get to witness along the way. They said these stories inspire and encourage all of us—and I think they're right. Sometimes we don't always see the impact of our giving, but moments like this remind us that every donation, every purchase, and every act of kindness truly matters.

Most importantly, this story is a reminder that with God, all things are possible. Time and time again, we have seen Him provide exactly what is needed, often in ways we never could have imagined. The hope, healing, and transformation we witness are not the result of human effort alone—they are the work of God. We believe that true and lasting freedom is found in Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and He alone has the power to transform hearts and restore lives.

Thank you for your continued support, your prayers, and your generosity. Together, we are helping bring hope, healing, and restoration to people who need it most. To God be all the glory.

A few months ago, I received a phone call from my daughter.

“Mom, I met a homeless man on the streets of Canby, Oregon. I asked him if he wanted help, and he said yes. Will you talk to him?”

Of course, I said yes.

When she handed him the phone, I asked, “Would you like to go to a faith-based residential program where you won't have to worry about where you'll sleep or what you'll eat? A place where you'll have a warm bed, good meals, and the opportunity to grow closer to Jesus?”

Without hesitation, he said, “I would love that.”

I told him, “Okay, I'll come meet you.”

After meeting him, we arranged for him to stay in a motel for a couple of nights while we worked out the details. Thanks to the generous donations given to our thrift store, we were able to provide him with new clothing and money for meals. We met with him daily, encouraging him and helping prepare him for the next step.

Soon, the day arrived to take him to the train station. He boarded a train bound for California, where a faith-based residential program called Mountain of Mercy had an opening for him.

Today, he has been in the program for a couple of months and is doing wonderfully. He is grateful, hopeful, and thriving. Seeing the transformation in his life has been such a blessing.

We want to thank each of you for your donations and prayers. Because of your support, we are able to continue helping people who truly want help and are looking for a new beginning.

Lives are being changed, and you are a part of that story. Thank you for making a difference.

We provide a safe environment for holistic health to grow out of trauma by supporting relationship with God and each other.

Hi everyone,

It has been a busy season for our family, and we're happy to share that we'll be open tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday (May 30, June 1, and June 2) from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

After June 2, we will be temporarily closed.

Many of you have become like family to us and know how much we cherish time with our grandparents. As they've gotten older, we've wanted to spend more time with them whenever possible. This past week, our Grandpa Craig suffered a massive heart attack and stroke. By God's grace, he made it through surgery and is now recovering. He will need another surgery in 4–6 weeks, and in the meantime, he'll need lots of love, care, and support as we walk through this journey together.

Through it all, God has been so faithful. He has given Grandpa and my Grandma incredible strength, and we are deeply grateful for His provision and peace during this difficult time.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers for Grandpa Craig, our family, his doctors, and everyone involved in his recovery.

Thank you all for your love, support, and understanding.

Jesus is King! ❤️
