Leaf River Quilt Company in Leaf River Illinois! Our last stop before home. A little behind schedule - and Karen and her staff stayed well after closing time for us. We are thankful! Lots of good shopping, and Miss Cluckington found the batiks and the turtles delightful.

The bus took us to Yellow Creek Quilt Designs in Pearl City Illinois. The very most and best selection of primitive fabrics, wool and patterns anywhere. Our friends there are the very best. Things just get better and better on this trip! You can just see Miss Cluckington’s head by her new farm friends!

We started the morning at Westside Sewing in Cedar Rapids where we ogled new sewing machines. Then we visited Keeping You Sewing in Clinton Iowa. Wow! Were they good to us! So many beautiful things, and red light specials too! Miss Cluckington found a favorite fabric with tractors on it!
Then lunch next door at 7 Hills Brewery housed in a prior church building. Amazing place! The mosaic behind the altar is a true masterpiece. Delicious lunch! And a really good grape sour ale…

We and our other new mascot, Thunderbolt, visited Fern Hill Quilts and antiques in South Amana. Terry Tews said it was a great shop and she was right! Thunderbolt nearly got lost in a sea of far quarters. Linda made many fun purchases. Great fabrics and antique quilts too!
