Sometimes, while I am working at Super Sharp—the business my dad started—I can almost feel him watching over me from above.
Dad, this is how you and Mom raised us. You taught us rules, responsibility, respect, and the importance of being kind to others. I don’t know what happened to some of those lessons along the way, but I have never forgotten what you taught me.
Before you passed, you asked me to promise that I would take care of Mom. I believe you knew that much of this responsibility would one day rest on my shoulders. I have carried your words with me ever since, and I will continue honoring that promise for as long as God gives me the strength.
Thank you for standing beside me through my darkest moments. Thank you for guiding me when I needed direction and for every conversation we shared. You were a quiet man who observed more than you spoke—but whenever I truly needed you to stand up and help me, you were there, every single time and without hesitation.
I miss our little meals at Willie’s, when we would run up for a hot dog and hamburger. I miss watching the Bears with you, and I certainly miss our days fishing together. Those ordinary moments became some of the greatest memories of my life.
I miss you, Dad, and I miss so many people who have passed—people I loved and looked up to. Some days are incredibly difficult, but I keep standing because I know exactly what you would tell me:
“Just take it one day at a time. We can get through this together.”
Dad, I hope you can see me working hard, keeping Super Sharp alive, and standing beside Mom through every difficult day. Everything I do for her and for the business is part of the legacy you left behind.
I truly hope that one day, when God brings us together again, we can watch the Bears, go fishing, share another simple meal, and have all those conversations I miss so deeply.
Thank you for always being there, Dad. I hope I am making you proud. Until we meet again, I will keep going—with faith in God, love for Mom, and you forever in my heart. ❤️
