for Lillian with love 💛
It’s almost July and our production season has slowed down. A welcome change of pace from a busy spring.
Yesterday I wanted to make flowers for L. I took my youngest daughter to Possum Hollow Farm to buy some tuberose from farmer Joe. We admired the family of deer on the property as we drove in. It’s always so magical there.
I chatted with Joe and before leaving he gave us six (!) watermelons that he grew. We distributed some of them to our friends on the way home because who can handle that many melons without friends. Yellow flesh melons. They matched the tuberose.
When we arrived home to my surprise, as I walked through the yard to cut something to pair with the tuberose, I spotted our gloriosa lilies blooming. They always elicit an audible gasp from me. The perfect pairing for the arrangement for L. One of my top 10 favorite flowers.
In the studio, my daughter made flower confetti all over the floor as I made the arrangement. A delightful afternoon. ✨
