What is the difference between the Sisters' CBD tincture and CBD-infused oil (drops)?
That is a commonly asked question.
The answer is both 'no difference' and 'big difference'.
'No difference' in regard to the fact that they are both carriers of the CBD. Potency for both formats of delivery is the same. Two ounce bottle has 500 milligrams of CBD, one ounce bottle has 250 milligrams.
'Big difference' in taste and purpose. The tincture is made from 150 proof Everclear. It hits the tongue hard. Some people put it in juice or tea to swallow. The oil drops are mildly flavored with blood orange extract and even children and pets willingly open their mouths for the oil drops.
People and pets who suffer from seizures need both forms in their cabinets. The oil drops are effective (we have been told) in warding off seizures. The tincture is effective in stopping a seizure (we know first-hand with our animals). The bitter and harsh taste of the alcohol works magically in shocking the system into stopping the seizure. The oil would never do that because it is mild to the taste and takes longer to absorb.
Also, just for the record and because I used to be a teacher, anyone who calls an oil-based product 'tincture' is using a misnomer. 'Tincture' by definition means 'drawing the medicine from the plant using alcohol'. Thus, if alcohol isn't used, it isn't tincture. And putting pure plant oil that has been extracted using alcohol, putting that in coconut oil to make drops does not make the drops a tincture. Just saying.
Hope that is useful information to someone.
