It’s almost to Pass the Plate at the Tropical Slowdown with 🌞

meet the chef — “i’m dora, a south florida native who after living in chicago for almost a decade has decided to relocate back to florida specifically orlando to be a part of this communities ever-evolving service industry. i graduated from the cia (culinary institute of america) in new york with a degree in global culinary studies and have been fortunate enough to work alongside michelin starred chefs. from farm to table style restaurants to prix fixed dinners, i’ve done it all.

I grew up in an american-caribbean household with a grandmother who was a phenomenal chef and made sure i understood the responsibilities of feeding others ethically while considering the economical, social and environmental impact of consumerism. everyday i am learning - from composting, forced labor, diversity and inclusion in the workplace especially in leadership roles to animal welfare, environmental sustainability and working closely with local purveyors.”

Tropical Slowdown is an evening built around intentional moments. Guests will gather at a communal table to enjoy a thoughtfully prepared tropical inspired dinner, with hands on creative experiences woven throughout the night.

This is not just dinner. It is time to create, connect, and share space with others in a slower, more intentional way.

Come and say “I made that ish” at the Craft Café every Wednesday at starting April 29 🌞

A space for you to make something with your hands without the pressure of finding the materials or cleaning up the mess ✂️ each week has limited spots; so make sure to grab yours! Your spot gives you access from 6-9p to all the crafty materials; all we ask is that you finish one craft before moving on to the next ✨

You can expect a cozy and inspiring environment. A monthly rotating materials table where you can pick a kit to get crafty with; from watercolors, clay, beads, string, collaging and more! We’ll have instructions for you to follow + inspiration boards to spark your creativity.

Join us for the first Pass the Plate gathering, a shared table experience designed to slow things down and bring people together through food, creativity, and connection.

Tropical Slowdown is an evening built around intentional moments. Guests will gather at a communal table to enjoy a thoughtfully prepared tropical inspired dinner, with hands on creative experiences woven throughout the night.

This is not just dinner. It is time to create, connect, and share space with others in a slower, more intentional way.

As we prepared for this first table, we reshaped the evening to make space for more voices and more connection, expanding into a larger shared gathering that keeps community at the center.

Pass the Plate x Menu:

social + craft hour bites —

freshly baked sourdough, homemade butter, oil + vinegar dip

charcuterie chips, torched prosciutto, parmesan cream, grated parmesan

The table is growing 🌞

As we prepared for our first Pass the Plate dinner, Tropical Slowdown, we took a step back and reflected on what we are really building.

Pass the Plate was never meant to feel exclusive.
It was meant to feel shared.

So we reshaped the evening into a larger communal table, opening more seats and making space for more people to gather, create, and slow down together.

Tropical Slowdown is now a shared table experience at $75 per guest, including dinner and hands on creative moments throughout the night.

We believe creatives deserve to be compensated.
And we believe community deserves a seat at the table.

This is our way of holding space for both.

This is our very first Pass the Plate table, and the beginning of many more.
