This goes to show that if you really want a garden, no matter how busy you are you will find a way! So start your garden now. It is a perfect diversion from your busy life with food in the end. Nothing can beat that.

You know when you have a volunteer vegetable plant, they usually do very well because they are the seed that really wants to grow, and they will grow regardless of the soil condition. I had a volunteer squash before. Round zucchini. I tried my hardest to plant round zucchini, but they all failed until one day. I have a volunteer in the side of my tray with a tiny bit of soil and it was doing really well so I transplanted it and it was my first. So when you see a volunteer vegetable plant, give them a chance you might be very happy in the end.

Growing up in the Philippines, I never knew that we can eat this. I only learned to eat this here in the US.
So now I am addicted! This is only part of my harvest, and I will blanch this one very quickly because I don’t want the new trends to stay in the water. Now I will have leaves for winter Mung bean soup.

When did you find out that you can eat the leaves of bitter melon? How old were you? Who told you, your mom? Haha

Harvesting bitter melon leaves before they all turn yellow during fall. Fall weather is fast approaching and I don’t want to waste my leaves. These can be frozen and used during winter time.. winter is the best time to make Mung bean soup!!!

This squash is maybe a week or 2 from harvesting. I will make pie out of this! I will make a video when I make the pie and share it with you all. I am sure that this squash was given to me by my friends from Baguio city! What was not properly labeled? At any rate, the squash is supposed to be a winter squash. You can cook or you can make a pie. I prefer a pie.! LOL

I planted this tree because they told me that if you use the leaves for tea that it might help prevent cancer or for those who have cancer help reduce it. Have you heard that before? Do you think it’s true?

I just do not have the time that I used to, so I’m gonna try to see how I can manage my time so my garden will still be taken care of because it is becoming a jungle in some parts.

Lemon Balm smells so good like lemon grass. I infuse my water with it and add a little squeeze of lemon. Leave in the fridge for a few hours and drink!
