Last year, I planted soft neck, hard neck, and store-bought garlic. The Hard neck did really well, which was music variety, but it could still be better.
The soft neck did not do well at all. Absolutely a failure but there was some small garlic..
The store-bought grew then died.
This year, I will try this soft neck using the variety in this picture below. This variety has been known to really do well in Florida weather. I think it is worth a pretty good shot. So I am willing to give it a try while planting some music variety hard neck that I have from my last harvest.
It is crazy, but we always say soft neck will do better in our Florida zone but last year it didn’t. I will give it one more try.

So follow my page so you will know what happens! I should receive my garlic around the end of September and I will Vernalize them in my fridge for 2-3 month before planting.

I was looking for my string beans seeds I harvested last year but I just found it on this Tupperware tray above the garden shelves! I thought a tool seeds out already and put them away but nope! So I hope these seeds are still good. I will soak them overnight for faster germination!

I hand pollinated this a little bit late because I didn’t see it so I am still hoping that it will become a successful squash. This will be the last of the Tahitian melon squash for this season, and I am hoping for other kinds of squash to grow and give me more for winter..

I hand pollinated this two days ago. So in two days, the flower came off already. I caught it quite late to pollinate, so I hope that this will be successful because the Tahitian squash is very sensitive.. We are not sure yet if this is going to become a big squash until maybe seven more days.
So let’s follow and see what happens!

So I have planted everything in the plant sheet that I have except for the string beans. I have to look for my seeds! I know I have some from our friends in the Philippines, giving me purple color, string beans. If I can’t find it, then I’ll use my normal green string beans..

Mulching is very necessary, especially if you live in a hot weather location like where I am now. But this time I am putting only a thin mulch just to make sure that the seedlings will germinate through the mulch.. I can always add later

I saw these squash seeds overnight to help germinate fast faster. I was also going to clip the end, but I forgot. Anyway, I should see some germination in the next week. I know these are too much seeds in such a close area, but this is only to make sure that I have germination and if they all germinate, then I’m going to move some towards a different location.

Illinois squash is a winter squash. I don’t know about the. rampicante squash yet.

I know you’re going to tell me that there’s too much and too close for watermelon but really it is only so I make sure I have germination and I removed what I don’t need later. Maybe transplant it somewhere else. I soaked these seeds overnight.
I think I still have time for watermelon before it gets cold.

First time I’m using rainwater from this rainwater catch! I’m fertilizing my squash, watermelon and bitter melons with diluted compost tea with rice wash and molasses! Rainwater is the best water to use for it.
