There are still open spots for our upcoming Teen Art Club!

We're excited to launch the very first Teen Art Club at Novel Tea Book Shop!

Designed specifically for high school students, Teen Art Club is a chance for young artists to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and create alongside other teens who share a passion for art.

The club is organized and led by Artist Angel Lowden, a professional artist with more than 35 years of experience, who is passionate about helping the next generation of artists build confidence, learn new techniques, and grow their creative abilities.

Whether your teen is an experienced artist or simply enjoys drawing, painting, and creating, this club is designed to be a welcoming and inspiring space where creativity can flourish. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different mediums, work on guided projects, and develop their own artistic style in a supportive environment.

Parents, registration is required, and space is limited for our inaugural session, so we encourage you to reserve your teen's spot today!

The Community Chess Table

Join us every Tuesday from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM at Novel Tea Book Shop for The Community Chess Table, a free weekly gathering where players of all ages and experience levels are invited to learn, play, and connect.

Made possible through The Creative Chapter, this welcoming community program offers a place for beginners to discover the game, casual players to sharpen their skills, and experienced competitors to enjoy thoughtful matches with fellow chess enthusiasts.

The Community Chess Table is facilitated by Jim Goodale, a retired pharmacist and lifelong chess player who has been involved in the game since the 1970s. Jim is a US Chess Federation Life Member, a Certified Local Tournament Director who has directed tournaments with up to 100 participants, and is Safe Play trained and background checked through the USCF.

Chess is more than a game—it's an opportunity to strengthen critical thinking skills, practice patience and sportsmanship, and build meaningful connections across generations. Whether you're making your first move or planning your next checkmate, you'll find a seat waiting for you at the table.

On Wednesday, join us for The Writer's Haven, our monthly gathering for authors, poets, songwriters, journalists, and storytellers of all kinds. Whether you're working on your first project or your tenth, you'll find a welcoming community ready to encourage and inspire!

Thursday brings Romance Book Club, where we'll be discussing Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune. Grab a cup of tea, settle in, and join fellow romance readers for an evening of lively conversation!

Saturday morning, pull up a chair at The Community Watercolor Table! This free weekly creative gathering is open to all skill levels. We provide the supplies—you just bring your imagination!

Saturday afternoon, we're excited to welcome Ralph C. Lebrun for our Local Author Spotlight Series! Meet the author, learn about his work across multiple genres, ask questions, and discover a new local literary voice.

Then on Sunday, slow down and recharge at our weekly Silent Book Club. Bring your current read (or find one in the shop!), order your favorite tea or lunch item, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon surrounded by fellow book lovers.

We wanted to thank everyone who joined us for our events this week!

From books and brews at Boozy Book Fair, to watercolor painting with friends, an incredible Art Walk featuring Jayne Mills and Kyra Lieberman, and a relaxing Sunday Silent Book Club, we are feeling incredibly grateful for this amazing community!

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported our authors and artists, shared a conversation, picked up a new book, enjoyed a cup of tea, or simply spent part of your week with us. Events like these remind us why we love creating space for creativity, connection, and community here in Ormond Beach!

It's Art Walk day!

Join us this afternoon from 3:00–7:00 PM for Historic Ormond Beach Art Walk and make Novel Tea Book Shop one of your stops!

We're excited to be featuring photographer Kyra Lieberman's powerful exhibit, Aftermath..., a moving photographic exploration of destruction, recovery, and resilience in the years following the hurricanes that changed our community. Her work captures both the visible and unseen impacts of disaster through a deeply personal lens.

We're also thrilled to welcome author Jayne Mills for a Meet the Author event! Stop by to meet Jayne, learn more about her novel Bottom of the Breath, and pick up a signed copy.

And because Art Walk is always better with friends, we'll be hosting a complimentary wine tasting from 4:00–5:30 PM! Browse the gallery, meet the artist and author, sip some wine, and enjoy an afternoon surrounded by creativity.

Don't forget that Ormond MainStreet is providing complimentary shuttle service between participating Art Walk locations, making it easy to explore everything happening throughout the district!
