Let’s go with something positive. Drive to a further Walmart this morning. Meet a fellow collector Bob visiting from St. Louis and we talk while I’m cleaning up the area. What I didn’t know is he had asked an employee to check the back for Hotwheels. Team member had zero in inventory but walks out with 4 cases. Now, they were obviously gone through by employees missing a bunch of good stuff plus the supers and 3 of the 4 hunts because Walmart can’t control their employees… but there’s plenty of scraps left. Even some other cars mixed back in. I grab one case and start filling the pegs. BMW, Lotus, black SF90, a Dino to wheel swap, Zamac crx etc. On the second box another collector starts checking the pegs, excited to see the Zamac. Grabbed the hunt from the 3rd box and handed it to him. Then another collector.

4 collectors, no fighting, never met, shooting stories and new releases as we share our win.

It was a nice change of pace compared to the handful of scalpers around that grab EVERYTHING except myers, fj cruisers, white Benz, and Lancias.

While I may rarely ever find a chase or super, collecting can be fun with the right people.

Looking at the photo I accidentally grabbed a 3rd Porsche. Got my 1st white GTB finally.
