Remember Miss Buffet? I had her painted in a paint brand, I'll never use again. Not a fan. I didn't like the flat look. It looked lifeless and plain.
So I did whatever crazy person would do. I sanded everything off and started from scratch. It's only in the primed stage, and I like it much better, 😆
As I was sanding, I was thinking as to what to say about my taste. More of that later, lol
I am going a completely different route with her. I'm thinking old world..I have a plan that speaks up my soul. There she is in all her first coat primer. All the stuff on top are exterior paints..

Yes I am alive. We've taken it upon ourselves to do more remodeling. No.. it's not interior doors. They are still mismatched, 😆. We had some rot that was found while replacing a back door, that came from a water heater leak. So siding and flooring needed to be replaced. Once we started painting, we decided to replace exterior window trimand door trim. Guess who gets to paint all 20 plus pieces of trim?? ME!!
I'm not exactly retired, so this has taken me a hot second. I'm near the end with one exterior door left.
Anyone else have projects??

This has been my world! Painting 21 pieces of window trim in 2 days, plus painting all the details of exterior house painting. I turned out dining room into a factory, lol.
Thus far we have painted the garage, house and some interior this year. I'm exhausted.
I'm still working on Violet but nearing the end. Her top is so pretty. I need to do the side of the drawers and this big girl will be finished!

I'm trying to find some mcm pieces for another project, and a dresser that's solid on the bottom that's not overly long....

Until then, she's been painted and doors textured just a bit. I can't do smooth äll the time, folks! I love texture, lol. The color is actually a grayish purple. I'm stuck for the color on top, and narrowed down to two. K***s, my favorite have been restored, though I'm not sure about them now. We'll see

A couple things. Remember Daisy my little wood fairie? I found k***s, but they never arrived. I looked for the perfect k***s and settled on these. To make them work, I painted them green to match the dresser. Second step was to stain and seal. :)

This morning I was painting the side of a garage at 7:30. No headphones, just the birds singing in the trees.
Later, after errands, I came back to touch up the garage, and afterwards, it was time to go back to the buffet in my painting room. Again no headphones, just the sounds of my ticking clock. It's so important to unwind, and be present. I feel more creative sometimes, when nothing is pulling my attention away. I'm loving this color.

This is what bleeding looks like through the wrong primer. I thought I grabbed oil based primer, but alas, the tannins bled through as fast as a 3 yr old can steal cookies from a cookie jar, 😆.
Make sure the primer is oil based, AND a tanning blocker. I have after water-based pictures, and after tannin blocker primer. The yellow you see is tannin. The picture to the right is after the correct primer.

This is a huge buffet!! I wanted to go back to my roots with chalk paint. More subtle... soft.. She's a wild one. Great ...

I've been working on moulding for our house.
No name went to the garage. That dresser sucked my time. I had to concede defeat or keep going. I chose to call it a learning piece and be OK with that.
Furniture restoration takes a lot of time for broken pieces. With all the things going on with my life, my heart and head were not in the place I needed them to be.
The next two dressers after the moulding, will not require as much time.
So stick around and please be patient. :)
