PUT THIS IN YOUR DEN for Inspired Flight’s signature blend of eclectic styles, made up of melodic synths, rhythmic beats, soothing vocals, and killer features. Like The Stars, But Even More is the acclaimed sophomore album by the downtempo hip hop outfit from Southern California. After thirteen long years, OpenOptics and 9Theory returned with another record, simply too masterful to categorize. Combining intricate instrumentation with electronic elements, perfectly placed scratches, and otherworldly effects, this album is the group’s strongest release to date.

Never afraid to collaborate with friends and longtime inspirations, the guys brought on a slew of incredible MCs and vocalists, such as Talib Kweli, Sophie Barker, Kiyoshi, Dawn Mitschele, and Ashley Mazanec. Additional guests include Torii Wolf (Dennite’s should be familiar with Soft Realms, the perfect bass-heavy downtempo album with 9Theory) and mainstays Eligh & Scarub of Living Legends. Another highlight is the song “How Quickly Forgotten,” featuring one of the final verses from one of the greatest MCs and hip hop voices of all time, Blackalicious’ Gift of Gab.

Yoooo!!! What a ripper! Sure, we're biased, but this was easily our favorite event in the area since we moved up over a decade ago. Killer tunes, sick venue, and the best vibes from all the homies who came out...

Big ups to all of the talented artists that rocked the stage on Saturday. From the face-melting, soulful psych of , to the story-telling dark jams of , to the spot-on horror punk covers of , to the mesmerizing, dance-inducing instrumentals of , we were all treated to one kickass party! Whether it was head nodding or full-on grinding, folks couldn't stop moving the entire night. And how about those visuals?!

Thank you, thank you everyone who came out and shared their evenings with us. Thank you to the entire staff of for graciously hosting our debauchery (special shout outs to Cara and Ben for keeping things running so smoothly). Thank you .magic for all of your hard work leading up to the night, blessing us with the new H2H mascot, flyers, and all the promotional help. Here's to a quick recovery! Thank you to all our local buds who spread the word and hung up flyers. We love you guys!

One more shout out to the musicians who graced the stage. We can't wait to see you all again - whether it be in the shop or another external event.

We're already working on our BIG Halloween party that will feature even more bands and vids. Keep an eye out for a formal announcement soon.

We just received five SIGNED copies of the new EP "Carnival" from .ray. It is one of our favorite releases of the year, so grab one while you can. And then go see them live. They rule! They just plowed through Brooklyn with some of the best heavy shoegaze support acts.
