Charleen Richtsmeier from Ackley, certified quilt appraiser, made this quilt. Notice how she used decorative stitches. Charleen was here to drop off her mid arm quilting machine for service. I asked her if she could appraise some of Linda’s quilts when she comes to pick up her machine. She agreed. She would also do quilt appraisals/consultations for others.

Marilyn Rowley who is scheduled to do consultations and/or appraisals at the Ottumwa Quilters Guild Quilt Show November 7 & 8 will also be available for anyone who is unable to attend that event.

We will absolutely NOT make fun of you if you are wearing a quilted apron anytime of the year. We may even inspect it and even ask for the pattern!

For the husbands, we have a rocking chair. You are welcome to come relax or even take a nap while your wife shops in our store. (It's been done before!)

We are open Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 4pm, and Saturday from 10am -3pm.
We are closed Sunday & Monday.

My mother raised 7 children. When my youngest sibling left home, Mom started babysitting and did so for the next several years. She did not need the money. She needed the sounds of children to fill the house. Recently, we had a family reunion at our home. It was wonderful. A few days later, I remembered why we have children when we are young. I was tired. Then one by one, family groups returned to their homes.

We took our two daughters to the Des Moines airport. These words were formed on the way home. I share them because so many of our customers and friends have shared similar thoughts.

From Tim, the Bib-wearing Sewing House man: The Sewing House staff had a sewing retreat this last weekend. Connie brought some caramel chocolate brownies that could only be described as decadent. This photo, taken on our dining room table, is visible proof that the brownie I took home to Linda did, in fact, make it all the way home.
