We are ready to share what we have been up to for the month of August!
Much of my life since I was 7 years old was spent in Long Beach WA where my parents loved to spend tons of time fishing, crabbing, clam digging & being with great friends! Mom & dad built 4 houses on the Peninsula from my age of 13 to 40. We did tons of camping with Dave Foster & Sherryl Foster on a lot they owned prior to the builds...such an amazing life for me to grow up in!!
July 13th we flew to Portland to get more info on 2 rental homes mom & dad own in Vancouver WA. While we were there, my husband, as always, was looking through Zillow for fun for properties on the coast! GUESS WHAT POPS UP?? 1 of the 4 homes that my parents built from the ground up!! James actually helped my dad build it!!! It was their 3rd one built in 2007.....they sold it to a commercial fisherman buddy of my dads and he passed away. His kids didn't want it, so it went on the market! CRAZIEST PART...it was "contingent" for 52 days waiting for a Buyer to sell her home....she didn't, so the kids SOLD IT TO US🩷😢
We closed on the property in 2 weeks and drove to WA August 7th with a full trailer! What an AMAZING yet difficult roller coaster it has been for me to live all these past experiences & memories I spent with mom & dad in this sweet little town! Every corner turned brings back soooo much!
NOW today, Sunday, we are almost back home to AZ after a VERY QUICK month of redoing their home and making it ours for future memories with our small family!
