It’s hitting me all of a sudden that this is our last week of summer camp with the coolest Moxie Art Kids in Kansas City!!!!

What an incredible summer!!!

11 weeks of sold out kids camps
7 weeks of sold out tween camps
5 weeks of Friday pop-ups
1040 snack time snacks
743 sheets of cardboard
236 craftable boxes
164 circle doilies
84 custom cut wood signs
72 large water canvases
10 tubs of foam clay
6 teachers
and 100s of hours of Moxie Art Magic 🩷🎨🌈

It was all for and with the kids, and we are going to be counting down the days until next summer!!!

If you missed out on summer camps this year, now is the time to start looking at the school calendar. If school is out, Moxie is probably in session with a fun little camp pop-up created with the cutest, craftiest kids in mind.

Custom teacher signs for the win!

I can’t tell you how amazing it felt to be surrounded by teachers chatting, painting, and hanging out in the Moxie Workshop!

Teachers speak a different language and see the world through different eyes, and we just get each other.

Of course the signs turned out amazing, but even more amazing was the crafty social hang in the studio with new and old teacher friends.

I think we need to do another one! What do you think??

Surprisingly (or not surprisingly) I get asked a lot about how we teach art to kids at Moxie.

I have over 13 years of Shawnee Mission School District classroom teaching experience, and having taught elementary, middle, and high school art kids, I’ve learned some very important lessons.

Kids don’t learn unless they love what they’re learning, and traditional teaching techniques and pushing kids to perfection doesn’t work. In fact, pushing kids to perfection turns most kids away from creativity all together.

We call our art class process the Moxie Method, and we obsess over the details of how to make kids grow in their passion for making art. We want them to love it so much that they WANT to practice outside of our art class walls.

And the Moxie Method works!

There are lots of options and teaching styles out there. Don’t waste precious time on an art class that doesn’t work for your kid. Find art classes, teachers, and studios that inspire your art kid to grow, and build a passion for creating more art.

Have you ever made a giant paper flower?

Come hang with us in September to make friends and giant paper flowers.

We’re building our own form of Art Happiness at Moxie and turns out folks come for a workshop and leave happier after hanging and crafting for 2 hours with new and old friends.

PS - It’s not about the incredible crafts that turn out beautifully every time (seriously, we build craft projects that you just can’t mess up), the Moxie Magic is in the 2 hour craft therapy session with other crafters in a shared space. ✨

Big News: Moxie Art Classes open for registration this Friday at 6:30am!!

We sure miss our weekly Moxie Art Kids!!!!!

And wow do we have some creative and crafty fun planned for this year!!

Watch for your email this Friday and your 10% OFF early registration code!! As with all classes, camps, and workshops at Moxie, email registrations are first, and registration links post to socials late Friday afternoon.

PS - Keep an eye out for our School’s Out Pop-Up Camp registration too!!!!! They go fast, and your kids definitely don’t want to miss out this year!
