Labor Day hits a little differently when you think about what “work” really means.
It’s easy to associate work with a title, a company, or the hours we put in. But some of the work I’m most proud of has happened outside of a job description.
Building ideas. Creating something from nothing. Helping someone else succeed. Taking a chance on something that might not work. And occasionally turning a pile of old junk into something worth talking about.
I’ve learned that hard work doesn’t always look polished. Sometimes it’s late nights, wrong turns, starting over, and figuring it out as you go.
So this Labor Day, I have a lot of respect for the people who build, create, lead, teach, sell, serve, fix, haul, invent, and keep showing up.
Whatever your work looks like, I hope you get a chance to step away from it long enough to appreciate what you’ve built.
Happy Labor Day. 🇺🇸
And yes… apparently my version of relaxing still involves antiques, questionable purchases, and an American flag. 😏
