Ovid Community Thrift Store an OFC Mission The Ovid Community Thrift Shop has been a mission project and is owned and operated by the Ovid Federated Church (OFC) since 1972. Shop, Save, Support. in 2016.

The OFC Missions Committee oversees the day to day operations of the thrift shop. After operating expenses, all the money earned is used to support others who are in need, in our community and around the world. Recently we have supported the following organizations;
AT OFC: Purchased the chicken for the OFC Youth Groups chicken barbecue to raise funds for their annual urban mission trips. Supplie

d items for the Easter baskets that are given to children at the food pantry. Boy Scout camperships to help send boy scouts from Troop 78 to camp. Teen Outreach Project which provides gift cards at Christmas to community teens. Ovid Federated Church Library. South Seneca Ecumenical Food Pantry. South Seneca School's backpack program. CLOSE TO HOME: Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County. Family Life Ministries to help support the Family Life Network radio station. Kingdom Bound Ministries to support the 4 day Christian Festival held at Darien Lake. Pathway Home in Waterloo. Postage to mail care packages to the military and college students. Angel Tree shoebox gifts. Open Door Mission in Rochester, NY. Gateway-Longview in Williamsville, NY. AROUND OUR WORLD: Campus Crusade for Christ. Mercy Ships-Support for the floating hospital ship "Africa Mercy". Heifer International- provides animals and water where needed. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. United Methodist Committee on Relief. Samaritan's Purse. World Vision. MISSIONARIES WE SUPPORT: Amanda Henry who teaches English as a second Language in China. Julie Campbell serves in Africa with "Mission Society". The Morland family serves in Papua, New Guinea with "New Tribes Mission". The Lovelands serve in Haiti, bringing school supplies, socks and vitamins to children twice per year. The Heffrons will be serving In South Africa with S.I.M. Our Mission is to know Christ, to Live as Christ, and to reach out to all people in the love of Christ.
